Pearl Academy Services & Schedule
Pearl Academy operates Monday through Friday, with the exception of Wednesdays due to early student release. Tutoring services are offered from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM after school. Our tutors aid in helping elementary and middle school students by providing academic guidance.
General Tutoring Information
Pearl Academy tutors are chosen through a selective process to ensure that students will have access to the highest quality of tutoring. Our tutors have taken or are currently in multiple AP classes with exemplary grades in their respective classes. Tutors will need to meet a minimum criteria set by Pearl Academy guidelines of a 3.0 GPA or higher and other qualifications to select the best tutors to guide our students. Our tutors will be able to offer academic support in the following languages: Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Spanish.
After each tutoring session, tutors will update a Student Report for each student. This Student Report will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each student, and show their progress/improvement. Student Reports can be made available to parents upon request.
Tutors are also evaluated based on their performance. Aside from our selection process, tutors will be monitored by multiple checks and balances to ensure that the tutors who are not working/helping will be removed.
Academic Tutoring
Our one-on-one and/or small group tutoring helps target the source of a student's troubles, providing expert guidance and support to help students succeed.

In any case a request is made to benefit the student, such as a specific subject's test prep, our tutors are committed to ensure that they will go beyond ordinary tutoring.

Language Development
In any case that our students are unable to communicate effectively with our tutors, we will employ special tutors to support their language needs. Languages we currently specialize in are Chinese, Spanish, and English. Our specialized tutors exist to simplify the barrier between languages, to the point where language is not a hindrance, but instead a means of communication.
Predictive Future Education
If the student has appeared to demonstrate progressive mastery over the subject, they may be interested in exploring it further, perhaps considering one or more subject as a potential field of study. If so, our tutors would be only too pleased to accommodate. However, do note that their words are subject to change with the curriculum.
Of course, keep in mind that this service is not supposed to be a completely accurate nor definite indicator of of your child's proficiencies; rather, it is intended as a means of encouraging students to examine future prospects under tutor guidance, whether they be with regards to middle school, high school, college, or beyond.
Course Details
We offer our own curriculum as assessment towards students after they finish their needed work and if there is excess time. These assessments would be provided by the tutors to aid the students in areas they are weaker in.
Mentorship
Although we intend to focus mainly on academics, please note that our tutors also offer guidance to help your child. Our tutors are trained to use their experiences to help answer any of your child's questions, those including balancing schoolwork, future academic concerns, and more. Our tutors can often double as mentors (even without any emotional concerns), and can provide a space for students to share their concerns.
